GREEN BAY, WI – Strawberry Fields Design, Inc., has added two 2008 ADDY Awards—and one Best of Show distinction—to its growing shelf of industry awards.

The American Advertising Federation, a not-for-profit industry association, conducts the ADDY® Awards through its 200 member advertising clubs and 15 districts. It is the world’s largest advertising competition, and the only creative awards program held by the industry for the industry.

Strawberry Fields Design was honored with a Gold ADDY® in the Interactive Media division, and was also awarded Best of Show Interactive—one of only three Best of Show awards (print, broadcast, interactive) presented—for a website designed and developed for Cowgirl Rose, a custom jewelry designer in Tennessee. The website went on to win a Silver ADDY® Award at the District level.

Strawberry Fields Design Founder Joins Faculty at UW-Green Bay

GREEN BAY, WI – Addie Sorbo, founder of Strawberry Fields Design, has been hired as part-time lecturer in Arts and Visual Design at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (UWGB). She began teaching Graphic Communications courses during the Fall 2008 semester.

With plenty of real-life experience behind her and a bevy of 21st-century tools at her disposal, Sorbo is excited to reach a new generation of graphic designers.

“The fundamentals really haven’t changed, but the way they are taught is different,” she said. “We have a lot more technology today.”

Sorbo’s experience—ranging from website design to creating logos and designing for print—allows her to use real world examples to illustrate design techniques and philosophy. And that ability to both “show and tell” about the exciting world of graphic design gives students more than just textbook lessons. Continue reading

February 1964. Forty-five years ago, four young Liverpudlians crossed the pond to the United States, and music—and the world—was never the same.

Addie Sorbo wasn’t even born yet, but that didn’t stop her from acquiring a lifelong passion for, and collection of, The Beatles.

Inspired by her father’s love of music, the Green Bay, Wis., collector has found an affinity with her favorite musical group—so much so that she even named her graphic design firm Strawberry Fields Design. That name honors not only her love of the Liverpool lads, but also of her fondness for the 1980s character Strawberry Shortcake. Continue reading

Strawberry Fields Design Donates Time and Talent to Help Bring Hope to Green Bay

GREEN BAY, WI – Green Bay Convoy of Hope is a one day, compassion event with the purpose of helping those in need in the Greater Green Bay area. Green Bay Convoy of Hope partners with Convoy of Hope International to achieve this by providing free bags of groceries, a free lunch, health services, and information about available community services—all of which are provided with the help and support of local businesses, churches and civic organizations. It’s a great day to simply enjoy life and receive hope. Strawberry Fields Design is honored to be one of the organizations to help bring this wonderful event to Green Bay.

Strawberry Fields Design designed and developed materials for Convoy’s capital campaign, as well as promotional materials including posters, flyers, billboards and web site.

Strawberry Fields Design owner Addie Sorbo, and her husband Tim, also volunteered at the Green Bay Convoy of Hope event, held August 16 at Leicht Park, downtown Green Bay. This year’s event served 2,300 people.

“It’s amazing to see how much need there is right here in Green Bay,” says Addie Sorbo. “You may hear or read a story about the need in our area, but for me, it didn’t become real until I experienced it first-hand at the Convoy of Hope event. I met people that, for one day, did not have to worry about where their next meal was going to come from. And mothers that were able to just relax and enjoy a fun day with their family. Everyone left with information on services available to them and the message of hope.” Continue reading
